what to wear

The idea is to bring attention to the face while enhancing the portrait with the right clothing and color palette. HOWEVER - Funky ,hip colors are cool to show your personality for certain portraits. Please look at the portfolios to see the look you like. Here are some suggestions. Keep it simple – solid colors – OR- go crazy with color Casual clothing is good – fussy, dressy clothing looks out of place in natural environments Blue is probably the best overall color for everyone. It looks great in nature. Maybe a splash of color. Jeans and Jeans jackets are great. Natural Earth Tones – are always great Pink – is great for Spring and Summer- but not Fall. Long Pants – are always better than shorts. It is better to roll up pants even in the hot weather. Long sleeves are best for adults. Summer/Spring Bare feet for Summer and Spring Sundresses are great – please be sure they are loose and below the knee Pink and whites are fine – especially for the garden and beach Pants – khakis, jeans overalls and capri’s Fall Dress in layers- Natural Earth tones - browns and greens are beautiful (nothing too bright) Sweaters/ fleece jackets over solid colored long sleeve t-shirts Jackets – Barn or jean jackets – these can come off during the shoot Sturdy shoes -Work boots - (white sneakers are distracting) Studio For Color – pastels and whites or crazy color!! For black and white- black For Babies – just a diaper (ivory snow baby look) – onezies Bare feet Misc. Hair cuts- should be planned a least one week ahead- preferably two Hair accesories are great - please bring an assortment ***Natural expressions are best – please don’t ask you child to smile
